Mission Disney World!
I am using all the funds from my books to take my boys to Disney World. A bit like killing two birds with one stone, I love to write and could get a vacation out of it too! How cool would that be? Working my third book, but this one is going to take some time, in chapter 4 but have barely scratched the surface of this book. This book is about Jason, Calbert's older brother. That is Calbert of Calbert: The Third-Grade Cowboy/Facing the Bully! My new web-site is up and running. Check it out!

Back to my Hometown
I have been asked by my hometown to return and be the Author at the "Meet the Author" part of a festival for kids. They are expecting around 10,000 children, hope I still have a voice when I finish! =) Good think I like to talk. I hope they will be able to see that they can be ANYTHING they want to be, the sky is the limit! Most will be students from the school I graduated from, many years ago, I really am looking forward to the trip!

Trying something new!
Had my first acupuncture treatment today. Jury is still out, but boy is the arthritis in my hands feel so much better than when I walked into the office. No pain, but I didn't really expect any. I am happy I went, another trip back to on Thursday. I have tried Tiger balm and love it, hard to find but I try to keep some around for those really bad days.

When is a Cup not a Cup?
All three of my sons and I are in Taekwondo, last night after an evening
of sparring I asked my 7 year old, while he sucked on a slushy, if he
had worn his cup while sparring. The answer from him was a NO, while
trying to explain to him that he MUST wear his cup, my 4 year old piped
in to let me know that he and the 8 year old had to share a cup.
(Forgetting they did share a single slushy from a single cup) I
explained to him that both the 7 and 8 year old had their own cups. It
was then my friend, who was visiting, pointed out that we were talking
about two different kinds of cups. =) I want Grandchildren, so those boys of my better start wearing their cup!

Kids are Kids are Kids
After a number of years of trying, it became clear that having children
naturally was not an option. For several years I fostered children of
all makes and models, but all have touched my heart and my life. I
recently adopted three brothers, that I had fostered for two years. Not
many people get to "test drive" their kids before they get them, but
those few foster/adoptive parents of us out there do get that chance. If
you think you might be interested in learning more on adopting and/or
fostering children in need, leave me a comment. I'd be happy to talk
with you about my
experience.
experience.
Glorious Rain!
We had a constant steady rain for about 18 hours, it was wonderful. We
are in one of the worst droughts ever recorded for Indiana. The rain is
such a blessing! The trees, grass and even the cows across the street,
got a good drink!

Great Fun!
Just finished, what I would consider, a good showing at my book signing. I love talking with and meeting people, so this was right up my alley! Pulled in about $100, not a bunch, but $100 more than I had when I left home! And that is after the bookstore took their cut. Slowly but surely, this ship will be launched!
Book Signing Today!
I will be signing books at City Center News and Books today from 5:30-7:30pm Eastern time. The signing will be held in downtown Plymouth, IN. I will be signing both Calbert: The Third-Grade Cowboy...Facing the Bully and Lawn-Mower Chronicles. Calbert must work with Ernie, the school bully, in order to survive being trapped in a fire. Calbert must face his bully and get past being bullied. It becomes a matter of life and death. Ernie likes to pick on Calbert for being adopted, this seems to be Ernie's favorite way to torment Calbert.

Calbert faces the Bully!
Bullying is a very serious and important subject. But how can we teach adults and children to face these bullies? Whether they are work place bullies or school bullies, the resulting heartache is the same. See how Calbert chooses to face down his bully. In Calbert: The Third-Grade Cowboy...Facing the Bully!
What Better Way to Start the Morning?
My 4 year old started the day off by singing to me, a new song he had made up. With voice high pitched and arms waving, with both enjoyed every minute of it!

The Bully
In Calbert: The Third-Grade Cowboy...Facing the Bully, we look into what makes Ernie the bully. Ernie likes to bully Calbert around for being adopted. Ernie is the biggest bully in school. But what really makes him want to bully Calbert? What are the reasons Ernie likes to bully Calbert at school? This is a must read for parents, grandparents and kids, who are concerned with bullying.
